This edition features seven parts: the public health nursing movement, including its history in the U.S. and as a world movement; principles, education, and records; public health nursing under private auspices; public health nursing under official auspices; the public health nurse, including field nursing, supervision, and choosing public health as a specialty; nursing services, including communicable diseases; and questions of the day. The appendix offers a chronology of public health nursing. Mary Sewall Gardner (1871-1961) established the National Organization for Public Health Nursing, which merged with the National League for Nursing in 1952.
