Selling or Donating Books and Media

Textbook Buyback

We are pleased to pay competitive prices for textbooks and academic books in their current edition.  If you are a college or secondary school student or parent, a trip to our store can make a difference in tens or hundreds of dollars compared to what the college bookstore offers for buyback prices.  Even if your books are a couple years old, it is worth having us evaluate them to see what we can pay.  We accept appointments; walk-ins are also welcome, though we may not always have a buyer available.  Our evaluations are fast and we’re happy to meet you and give you a quote with no pressure at all to sell to us.  We are confident that we offer the best buyback service available.

What We Typically Buy

  • Textbooks (in their current edition)
  • Academic ‘required reading’
  • Books published extraordinarily recently (within the past year usually)
  • We may buy or offer credit for other books at our discretion.

When We Buy

  • We are always buying books.
  • We accept appointments for book evaluations.
  • We also accept walk-ins without an appointment, but may not always have a buyer available.

What We Pay

  • A percentage of the online market price
  • We usually make payment by check, but we also double payment amounts if you choose to take store credit.

Donations

Roundabout Books accepts any and all books, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl records on donation.  We accept books both at our shop and at several book collection containers around the area. If you have books that you would like to deaccession from your personal library while supporting local business, we would deeply appreciate your support. Our goal is to support our bookstore operation through locally-sourced books, make excellent books available to our local customers, and put books to their best use. We handle even damaged books, recycling books locally that we aren’t able to sell.
