Description: Volume III, part II of four original volumes in eight parts. Printed in 1884 from the 1877 edition. Illustrated with maps, plans, and engravings. Original quarter-calf binding with gilt lettering and raised bands on spine. Binding is cracked at interior rear hinge. Endpapers marbled in maroon, yellow, blue, and cream. Rear endpaper is damaged and last page is loose. Page-edges also marbled, but faded. Spine ends and corners rubbed and somewhat exposed. Pages are unmarked, interior is clean, and text-block stitching is tight. Some light foxing in places, and pages are slightly tanned. This volume contains encyclopedia entries for Numeration through R (Ryswick). Hardcover, good condition. 1760 pages, quarto.
