Spine ends are somewhat worn and there is very minor pest damage on rear hinge. Tan pastedown bears the tiny pasted label of Whitcomb & Barrows, Boston, Mass. Illustrators included in this volume are: Gerrish, Morrow, Schäfer, Ranvier, Edgar, Collins, Flint, Sappey, and others. This edition was revised from a 1902 second edition, following advances in science, and a desire to increase the number and quantity of illustrations in this volume. A chapter on "special membranes and glands," has been added to this edition, and the chapter on the nervous system was rewritten by Howard D. Collins, M.D., who also supervised this revision. From the nursing history collection of Sarah Abrams. Hardcover, good condition. 438 pages plus publisher's list, octavo.
