Description: Illustrated. Volume II. Full calf binding with cracking and damage to hinges. Front stitching intact, rear stitching just hanging on. Leather is cuffed and corners are exposed, spine is cracked and edges are torn. Gilt lettering and decoration partly visible. Embossed basket weave pattern on front and rear boards. Foxing throughout, very little marginalia. Frontispiece depicts the world and plays of William Shakespeare, and facing page has an image from The Tempest. There are engraved plates periodically, depicting the best-known plays. This volume includes Henry VI, Richard III, Troilus and Cressida, Timon of Athens, Coriolanus, Julius Caesar, Antony and Cleopatra, Cymbeline, Titus Andronicus, Pericles, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and Othello.
