Text begins at the preface and table of contents. David Marks (1805-1845), from Seneca County, New York, became a Free Will Baptist after encountering religious revivals, of the same type that would influence his nearby contemporary, Joseph Smith. This account is of his travels through the region, preaching, baptizing, and strengthening congregations of his denomination. The work is notable as the earliest published reference to Mormonism and the Book of Mormon. Hardcover, acceptable condition. 396 pages, 12mo.
