Description: Illustrated in color throughout. Original gray cloth binding with color illustration pasted to front board, and blue text. Binding is still intact but somewhat loose; mesh is showing on front inside hinge. Cover is dirty and edges are worn. There are crayon scribbles on the front pastedown, but the interior contents are largely undamaged, save for light soiling and small tears to the edges of the pages, from use. The illustrations are complete. Whimsical verse poetry often with an evening or night theme, including the Moon Boat, Whoowinds, Cloud-World, Fall Races, Daybreak, Fisherwife's Lullaby, Sea-Gnome's Song, Shepherd Wind, Night-Gown Elf, To the Evening Star, and The Burglar. The illustrations are lovely and detailed, with owls, elves and fairies, roaring fireplaces, insects and flowers, fish and sea creatures, autumn leaves, birds, and a naughty cat. Hardcover, acceptable to good condition. Unpaginated, about 27 pages, quarto.
