This book is the sixth printing of the first edition, and was prepared by a joint committee of the NOPHN and the US Public Health Service. Introduction by Thomas Parran, the Surgeon General at the time, and acknowledgement by Grace Ross, R.N., President of the NOPHN. The introduction, written for the first printing in 1942, explains the need to set a curriculum of professional content for public health nurses, and hopes that in doing so, it may be an impetus for other guides concerning public health administrators and engineers. The contents include topics in public health and nursing services, methods of learning, public health organization and administration, the field of professional social work, organizations and administrations, and more. There is also an appendix of participants in the study, which include names and institutions of the curriculum consultants, the Central Committee to Study the Public Health Nursing Curriculum, the Advisory Committee, the subject production committees, and other consultants and reviewers. From the nursing history collection of Sarah Abrams. Paperback, good condition. 206 pages, octavo.
