Description: Sixth volume only. Original blind-embossed brown cloth binding with amateur stitched repairs on both boards and spine. Gilt lettering on spine is much faded, tips are exposed, spine is damaged at top and bottom. Brown glazed pastedowns are split at hinges, and ownership information in pencil is unreadable on flyleaf. Interior pages are tanned and lightly spotted, but free of marginalia. Edited by Wilson's son-in-law, James Frederick Ferrier. John Wilson FRSE (1785-1854) was a Scottish advocate, literary critic and author, and a professor of Moral Philosophy at Edinburgh University from 1820-1851. Hardcover, acceptable condition. 557 pages, 12mo.
